Description
Incredible! Just take a close look at this wonderful circa 1950’s vintage Hobé jet black faceted glass bead set consisting of choker necklace and dangle earrings. The closely graduated beads are strung on tiny silver chain which is indicative of Hobé jewelry, and there is a tiny glass bead placed in-between each of the larger faceted beads to give separation. The bead size ranges from 1/2 inch in the center to 3/8 inch at the ends of the necklace proper. The beads on the adjustable portion of the necklace are 1/4 inch with the final one being 5/16 inch. It has a hook fastener and is adjustable from 13 inches to 17 inches long. The clip earrings are made up of a cluster of eight beads from 1/4 inch to 5/16 inch dangling from larger silver chain which is attached to an earring clip adorned with a flat backed faceted jet black half bead. This charming classic set will go from day to evening and casual to formal with ease. Wear this with pride as you will be wearing jewelry prized by the likes of Bette Davis and Ava Gardner not to mention the Ziegfeld Follies. The Hobé name is synonymous with high quality and it is rumoured was how the term “costume jewelry” was coined when Florenz Ziegfeld described the pieces of accompanying jewelry that went with the costumes designed by William Hobé for the Follies.
