Antique and solid cast iron Folk Art black cat boot scraper or sculpture. Walking in silhouette with tail held high and in wonderful antique condition with nice patina. Circa 1900.

Description

This guy is very proud and handsome whether you use him for his intended purpose as a boot scraper or as a sculpture sitting on a windowsill, shelf, or mantle. Comprised of cast iron with a black painted finish and great patina. His rounded end base has holes for mounting if you desire to use him as a boot scraper. Some have said he would make a great door stop as well. My favorite place to view him is proudly strutting across an outdoor view on a windowsill waving his jaunty tail. A similar feline is in the permanent collection of The Museum of American Folk Art in New York. You should make this fellow yours.
