These chairs are fantastic! They are done in the style of the Onda chair which was designed by Giovanni Offredi for Saporiti Italia in the 1970s. However, these have chrome arms and are labeled on the bottom G. Maletti. G. Maletti is a high quality and innovative fixtures furniture company based in Italy providing furniture to hairdresser and beauty salons across the world since 1936. After extensive online research I have not been able to tie Giovanni Offredi to G. Maletti; however, Philippe Starck did design fixtures furniture for Maletti, so it is not out of the question that these chairs are the product of a modification of the Onda chair by Giovanni Offredi himself. Whether or not they are, they are fabulous! Comprised of a chrome flat steel bar cantilevered frame with Naugahyde upholstery. One chair is all gray the other is gray and burgundy. We have priced them as a pair. You need to make them yours!
Pair Vintage G. Maletti Lounge Chairs in the Style of Onda by Giovanni Offredi for Saporiti Italia
$2,495
Vintage pair of handsome lounge chairs produced by G. Maletti. These chairs are made in the style of the Onda chair by Giovanni Offredi for Saporiti Italia. They are in wonderful vintage condition. The chrome has minor scratching as you would expect with age. The upholstery is good on the surface but there are some flaws under the head pad flaps, some wear to the arm covering, and the upholstery is mismatched. The result is new upholstery may be preferred but is not required. We believe these to be circa 1970s as are the originals. We have priced these chairs as a pair.
