Description
This antique oval dining table is so lovely with its hand painted Chinoiserie design and wonderful cabriole legs and it is large enough to seat your whole family! This table started life as a rectangle as you can see in the black and white original photo we have of this fabulous dining set when it was new and in the breakfast room of its original owner at 1225 W. Market, Akron, Ohio. Then, around 1950, the original owner’s daughter moved the set to her home, see the photo with the turquoise wall, and had a the top remade to be an oval. I think this is so interesting to have the historical photos, don’t you? We have not been able to determine the maker but it is done in a similar style to pieces of the 1920’s by Wallace Nutting. With its great history, wonderful oval shape and the beautiful hand painted Chinoiserie design, and elegant cabriole legs ending with the great detail of a little ball foot, it will be a piece you will hand down for generations to come. If you are interested in the demilune console tables, and buffet server, we do have them listed here on our site. All pieces are in exceptional condition for being 100 years old. There are some small blemishes, as you would expect, but those imperfections are just an enhancement to its great age patina.
