If you are looking for beautiful storage……this is it! This Edwardian style chest of drawers is absolutely gorgeous with tons of storage space. Of course, it will be perfect for clothes storage in your bedroom; but you could also use it in a living room or dining room as was commonly done with this type of chest. It is comprised of a pine cabinet with burl veneer on the front only. There is a separate and removable top and base with the turned legs plus a total of six drawers that are all full width. The top drawer is a secret, hidden, or facia drawer and much shallower than the rest. The five remaining drawers seem to graduate slightly in size from smallest on top to deepest on bottom. Each of these drawers have two round wooden knobs with mother of pearl inlay in the middle. They are also each fitted with a skeleton key lock. Unfortunately, only one of the locks retains its mother of pearl inlay. We do have a pair of keys. The front column-like sides have applied acanthus leaves carvings. The overall look is stunning. I know you have fallen in love with this chest of drawers. Make it yours.
Tall Antique Edwardian Chest of Drawers Burl Front Mother of Pearl and Acanthus Carving

Handsome, very useful, and very tall antique Edwardian chest of drawers in pine with burl wood veneer front, most likely walnut; mother of pearl inlay on knobs; and carved acanthus leaves. It is in good antique condition with lots of patina. It retains its original finish. There are chips to the veneer mostly on the upper edge, the top edge of one of the drawers is split where it was broken and repaired, the mother of pearl is missing on the lock of 4 of the drawers, and the top surface is rough (however, I think it may always have been unfinished as it is above eye level). None of these are detrimental, in our opinion, to the beauty of this piece, but only enhance its age. Please see photos. Circa 1850-1900.
