Bold and bright and beautiful! This vintage Scandinavian wall hanging will look fabulous wherever it is hung. Made in the traditional hooked rug style with a traditional Danish design motif of birds and stylized tulips in bright reds and blues and yellows on a cream background. It has its own attached wood hanging bracket and is ready to hang. Rug hooking is both an art and a craft where rugs or wall hangings are made by pulling loops of yarn or fabric through a stiff woven base. The loops are pulled through the backing material by using a crochet-type hook mounted in a handle for leverage. It is believed the earliest forebears of hooked rugs were made in England during the early part of the 19th century. This beautiful example is circa 1960s-1960s Dutch. It needs to be yours.
