Art Deco Style Bronze Coffee Table with Diana the Huntress Medallion & Glass Top

This is an incredible functional art piece and it has a great story. This bronze coffee table or cocktail table was cast by a local artist here in Topeka. It is comprised of a center round medallion depicting Diana the Huntress with her trusty bow and arrows and her faithful dog. This medallion is bordered by two half circles on either side with the open side out. The ends of the circle arc flow into simple straight legs as if the circle continues downward at 90 degrees. This forms the rectangle that is topped by a substantial piece of 5/8” glass. The Diana center medallion was first created by the artist’s grandfather in the early 20^th century and was used in one of the historic buildings here in Topeka’s downtown. The mold was kept and in the 1990’s the grandson, who had taken over the creator’s foundry, used it to fabricate several pieces of lovely functional art, of which this is one.
