Kudus are amazing creatures, and this sculpture is no exception. Let’s talk about the powerful, confident stance of this magnificent beast and his glorious, twisted horns (which are removeable.) Kudus are a member of the Bovidae family, kind of a cousin to the antelope and there are two species, Greater kudu, and Lesser kudu. Unfortunately, the Lesser kudu are a near threatened species and their population is in decline as males are often killed for their exquisite large, twisted horns. This sculpture is a fabulous representation of their majestic beauty and serves as a wonderful preservation of their existence. It is nothing short of AWESOME.
David Fisher is a graduate of the Greek Art College of Odessa and has worked for over thirty years as a sculptor in marble, granite, bronze, and wood. He has also been an honorary member of the Professional Arts union in the U.S.S.R. for over twenty years. He emigrated to the U.S. and won a first-place prize for his sculpture for the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington D.C.
