When I was a little girl I always dreamed of having a canopy bed! For me, sadly, that dream did not come true BUT that doesn’t have to be the case for you!! This is a marvelous vintage Chinoiserie canopy daybed comprised of rosewood colored stained wood baring fabulously hand carved dragon face details on the front panel and surrounding the canopy which is topped with wonderful finials. The base has three drawers one larger center and two smaller on each side. Each drawer features the CUTEST intricately carved brass butterfly escutcheons with bale handles and triangular brass drawer corner details. Adequate space for clothing, toys, shoes, books, or whatever. Above the drawers is a lovely carved frame around the platform holding a 2-inch thick removeable seat cushion, three loose back cushions, and two round arm bolster pillows. All cushions are zippered and filled with soft foam making it super convenient for cleaning or if you decide you want to reupholster. We assume this beauty was made in China, but we cannot confirm that. Obviously it is an incredibly stylish daybed, but we can just picture it as a twin bed in a child’s bedroom! However, you would need a twin sized mattress for it to be comfortable enough to sleep on. It would also be beautiful in a sitting room used as a sofa bed! Its quintessential Chinoiserie style is going to make a BOLD statement in whatever room you choose…This is just what the designer ordered!! It is a spectacular piece of furniture with an Asian element unlike any other, and you simply MUST own it!! Make it YOURS!!!!
