Boy oh boy, these planters take us on a nostalgic walk down memory lane… Close to THIRTY years ago my mother bought these gorgeous planters from a local auction. She has always loved vintage furnishings and décor both to sell (or share with the world!) and add to her private collection. She immediately fell in love with these planters and chose to display them on her front porch so the world (well, everyone driving or walking by their home in Topeka, Kansas) could share in the viewing pleasure of their presence. Well, the generosity of her “gift of glance” came to an abrupt, sad halt as one morning she discovered they had been STOLEN off her front porch!! Sad day indeed! Fast forward to present day and VOILA… they found their way back to her adoring arms (thanks to a local estate auction) and they are ready to grace your front porch with their marvelous existence. They are comprised of fabulous, glazed terracotta with natural colors of a beige base and white column details around the bowls trimmed with a band of carved floral décor around the top of the pot. STUNNING!! We have researched extensively to no avail to find an exact maker as they are not marked but they bear a Baroque Revival, Italian, and Moorish Revival Style that is sure to blend in beautifully or elevate your home décor. They are going to be incredible indoor or outdoor BUT just make sure you have 24 hour surveillance hooked up on your front porch, so they don’t engage in another kidnapping demise like they experienced with my mom!! Come on… what are you waiting for? At this price, there’s no need to steal them… Make them YOURS!!!!!
Early 20th Century Antique Architectural Glazed Terracotta Planters with Floral Details a Pair
$2,995
Lovely antique Architectural glazed terracotta planters with floral details, a pair. These pots are most likely made by one of the terracotta tile makers who supplied the gorgeous decorative tiles used on so many of the beautiful buildings of the early 20th century cities as they were exploding on the new era, but we have been unable to determine the exact maker. They could be made in the USA or abroad in Italy or Spain. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, they do have little nicks and dings from their 100 years of life being used as planters and the inside retains those years of stains from the soil they contained. Please see photos and zoom in for details as they are part of the condition report. We attempt to portray any imperfections as they are part of the condition report. Circa, Early 20th Century.
