Wicker by Henry Link was founded, needless to say, by Henry Talmadge Link (1889-1983). Link, who had been an investment banker in Lexington, NC, and New York, organized the Dixie Furniture Company in 1936. He soon associated himself with his nephew, J. Smith Young, and son-in-law, E. Bruce Hinkle, founding Young-Hinkle, a model factory, in 1962 and Dixie-Linwood in 1972, with Wicker by Henry Link in 1964. He is known for girl’s bedroom furniture and for introducing mass production to the furniture business. Henry Link was inducted into the American Furniture Hall of Fame in 1998. Wicker by Henry Link is today being operated by Lexington Home Brands as the Henry Link Trading Co.
