1980’s Figural Large Hand Carved Marble Embracing Couple Sculpture & Slate Tile Pedestal

Love like that doesn’t come around very often, so if you are lucky enough to find it… Cherish it!! Anyway, that’s what I see when I view this magnificent figural sculpture. It is comprised of a beautifully hand carved & intricately hand sculpted marble couple wrapped in a passionate embrace. Their bodies are covered with colorful hand drawn markings, possibly to express an interpretation of their intertwined lives or a representation of a love so deep that their blood runs through each other’s veins. That is for you to decide. It has a carved signature but sadly throughout extensive research, we have been unable to identify the highly skilled sculptor that created this masterpiece. We obtained it from a woman that told us an interesting fact that her father bought it in Santa Barbara in the 80’s, but he has since passed away and unfortunately left no documentation. It is solid, heavy, and quite large scale weighing 230 pounds and standing 47 ¾ inches high stabilized by a steel rod upon a gorgeous plywood base encased in black slate tiles with gray grout trimmed edges. It is going to be incredible in your home whether displayed in an entry way, family room, bedroom, or any room that could use a powerful statement you are sure to love for years to come! The actual definition of love is “a strong feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection. A profoundly tender, passionate affection, often mingled with desire, for another person.” Well, we have a strong feeling that you have fallen in love with this phenomenal figural sculpture as much as we have.
