Gorgeous 6 panel Asian black lacquered or ebonized folding screen with hardstone and jade carvings. In wonderful vintage age appropriate condition. We did find a few chips to the lacquer – see photos.

Description

You must have this magnificent vintage Asian 6 panel black lacquer folding screen! Adorned with hardstone and jade intricately handcarved scenes of kimonoed gishas, ribbons, fans and dogwood it is extremely elegant. Whether you display it standing or hanging on a wall you may display it proudly. Each panel of the front side of the screen has a one of a kind carved scene that is part of a whole mural dipiction. The reverse side of the screen was not left out with each of the 6 reverse panels having a completely different and individual handpainted scene and a panel of gilt bamboo beneath. This vintage Asian 6 panel folding screen is in wonderful age appropriate condition. We have photographed places where the lacquer is chipped – I call this patina. This is one of the most gorgeous of this type of screens I have come across.
