D-Scan was founded in 1968 and began producing Scandinavian style furniture in Singapore in the mid 1970’s. They were known for their high-quality, functional, and minimalist designs. They opened a plant in south Boston in 1988 where they operated as part of Tvilum-Scanbrik, a Danish manufacturer of ready-to-assemble furniture that was acquired by Masco in 2000. The company was eventually phased out.
