Handsome vintage modern oak open frame club chairs with a floating upholstered seat & back in teal fabric, set of 4. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, the wood is in wonderful condition & they have been shampooed but most of the fabric is not in usable condition and they will need recovered. They are priced accordingly. Check out this FAB FOUR!!!!! Simply put, they are AWESOME!!! They are comprised of a light oak open frame with a floating seat and back which is upholstered in a teal fabric. They were specified by Michael Graves who redesigned the Topeka Public Library in 1998. The rest of the project’s furniture for the 100,000 square foot addition specified by him as well. He collaborated with several celebrity designers and created some of the most avant-garde and high style furniture in the 1980’s. SUPER COOL!!!! The fabric has been professionally shampooed but is not in great condition and they will need recovered. But oh, the opportunities!! Just imagine them in black leather! Or maybe some hair on hide! In addition to being great looking they are very sturdy. The construction method of this chair is celebrated with the joinery becoming the adornment. The open light oak frame is comprised of flat solid oak planks that are joined at the corners with beautiful box joints and the crossbars are joined to the open sides with large decorative bolts. The tops of the flat arms have been upholstered for elbow comfort. They are going to be great around your game table or maybe in your living room surrounding your coffee table. We have fallen in love with these vintage modern club chairs which are simply quite wonderful. What are you waiting for?? Make them YOURS!!!
