Early to Mid-20th Century Italian Gio Ponti Style Yellow Ladderback Side Chair Woven Seagrass Seat

It is comprised of a fabulous yellow frame bearing straight round tapered front legs with rounded feet and a flat front stretcher, round, tapered, and outward curved back legs that extend up to create the back side rails of the chair holding a phenomenal ladderback feature and a lower rung below the seat, and a double crosspiece stretcher joins the front and back legs which strengthens the chair and adds a bit of sass! The frame is in what we would call original Rustic condition as it does retain some chips and a bit of vintage wear and patina so it bears a character only the hands of time could give it… and it’s marvelous. And, as if that weren’t enough to make you drool… it features an incredible twisted & woven or braided seagrass seat!! I mean… WOW!!!! It was probably designed before the mid-century modern era, but this chair will go almost ANYWHERE with ANY style including modern, traditional, country, rustic, and everything in between.
