Class with SASS is IN SESSION!!! WOW!! Talk about grabbing your attention!!! An early morning meeting never looked SO GOOD!!! This is a set of SIX Node Task Chairs by Steelcase comprised of a bright and fabulous orange molded plastic seat, a wonderful white molded plastic work surface held by a black metal swing arm attached to a black metal bracket under the seat, a black metal shaft, and a FANTASTIC black plastic five prong base with casters!!! The chair features adjustable seat height, adjustable height on the work surface, they swivel, AND they ROLL!!! I mean… that crack of dawn class just became a bit livelier!!! Some of these Node Task Chairs came with cup holders… ours do not come with them however, if you want to purchase one, it’s an easy attachment. This set would be an incredible addition to any office, classroom, or work environment but we think they would be great gaming chairs too! OR… if you really love the chairs but don’t really need the work surface, you can cut off the arm underneath and remove the work surface. It is not removeable without cutting it off, and although it sounds brutal… it’s not… LOL… and it’s unnoticeable!! Because without the work surface they would be wonderful surrounding a game table, conference table, and they would be fantastic used as extra seating in ANY room!! They simply SCREAM with Modern MAGNIFICENCE and SUPREME Steelcase style!!
Steelcase was founded as the Metal Office Furniture Company in 1912 by Peter M. Wege in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Metal Office Furniture Company’s first products included fireproof metal safes and four-drawer filing cabinets which Wege invented and manufactured for the Macey Company. In 1914, the company received its first product patent for “The Victor,” a fireproof steel wastebasket. The Victor gained popularity due to its light weight achieved through a patented process of bending flat steel at right angles to create boxes, and its ability to prevent fires at a time when smoking was common indoors, particularly in the workplace. In 1915, the company began manufacturing and distributing steel desks and in 1937, the company collaborated with Frank Lloyd Wright on office furniture. The partnership lasted two years and resulted in some of the first modern workstations. The company officially changed its name to Steelcase, Inc. in 1954 and became known as the leader of the furniture industry in the late 1960s due to the volume of its sales and in 1973, the company debuted the Series 9000 furniture line. Steelcase merged three of its subsidiaries, Brayton International, Metro Furniture and Vecta to form Coalesse in 2008. The three main brands of Steelcase Inc. are Steelcase, Coalesse, and Turnstone. The company’s current headquarters was built in 1983 and is in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
