Early 20th Century Decorative Bird Cage Rustic North African Tunisian French Colonial White & Blue

What a Rockin’ (Robin) Residence for a Bold…. Bougie Bird!!! This is a fabulous vintage North African Tunisian and French Colonial style bird cage composed of a white painted metal dome with beautiful blue delicately hand painted decorative details & topped with a lovely tiered disc finial hosting a metal ring for hanging & the inner dome holds a suspending wire perch with a natural wood bar. The dome (which actually looks a bit like a hot air balloon!) rests upon a wonderful wood box-ish style base with 4 open front panels… only one of those panels is a door with a hook & eye latch and there is an open slot under the door where a pan or newspaper can be placed for easy catching of parakeet poo-poo’s, piddles, & bird seed cleaning purposes. It’s an absolute CASTLE for your Canary!!!! Although, due to the “perfectly-imperfect” all over time created vintage patina consisting of chips in the paint, a few chiggers & rust spots on this piece, we would be a bit leery actually using it to house your feathered friend as they may be intrigued to eat the paint chips or gnaw on the wires. You could always mount a “faux-feathered friend” on the perch if you choose, but it’s quite extraordinary standing solo. And, its Incredible Islamic & Tunisian architecture bear a marvelous Moorish & French Colonial style sure to be stunning among your other decorative pieces as it exudes an exceptional, rather avant-garde presence.
