This is a FANTASTIC pair of discontinued, vintage IKEA “Urban” barstools designed by Carl Ojerstam composed of awesome chrome plated steel frame & shafts with a 360 swivel & height adjusting handle under the white reinforced polypropylene seats. There’s a shock inside the shaft so there are no fixed height levels… you can adjust the seat anywhere between 22.5 inches to 29.5 inches and anything in between… and you can swivel!!! Who doesn’t LOVE to swivel??? The seat features a center “squircle” (yes…that’s a real shape!) cutout drop down front with a chrome bracket footrest. It looks cool and prevents shoe scuffing!! These are the perfect stools for your kitchen, bar, rec room, or just fun extra seating in any room whether you live in a modern or mid-century modern home, an industrial loft, or have space age décor in your apartment! They are Modern in style with a minimalistic aesthetic and a futuristic chic presence you are sure to fall in love with! I know we certainly have!!
Carl Ojerstam is an International award-winning designer who graduated from Konstfack School of Art & Design in Stockholm in 1997. He founded “Carl Design” in 1995 in Stockholm, Sweden. Since then, he has worked with clients including IKEA, Vondafone, Tupperware, BRIO, Selecta, Kinnarps Group just to name a few. He is a three time RedDot design award winner and holds lectures for schools, companies, and organizations and has appeared in various magazines & books including “The International Design Yearbook,” “Scandinavian Design Beyond the Myth,” “IKEA the book.” ELLE Interior, and “Tools for Living,” just to name a few. He has an ambition to always bring a cutting edge expertise to the field of product development working through broad networks and other experts in the field. He notes that the greatest source of knowledge, however, is often gained through their clients, in their daily lives at the factory, or on the sales floor meeting with end customers.
