Description
Cobalt Blue… and Just for YOU!!! WOW!!! This is a FANTASTIC vintage end or side table bursting with styles including Art Deco, Streamline & Art Moderne, International, & Bauhaus composed of a spectacular silver painted steel tripod base w/splayed legs featuring a wonderful “wire basket” decorative accent under the tabletop, & cobalt blue round mirror inset top with an aluminum rim edge labeled Wash Co. It is GORGEOUS!!! And can we just say… this incredible cobalt blue color is quite the signature color of the Streamline Moderne & Art Deco Revival era!!! The table itself is quite the enigma… we are definitely leaning toward this era however, after much research & trying to retrieve information on “Wash Company” we couldn’t find anything definitive… but, it bears that Streamline style including materials of aluminum & steel; a refined design, & horizontal lines; plus, the renowned “signature” color… hence… the ever puzzling, enigma!! The Streamline Moderne movement emerged in the 1930’s and was an effort to do just that… “streamline” the aesthetics, emphasize curved forms, horizontal lines, grooves, and feature smooth surfaces rounded corners, and a sleek, modern aesthetic inspired by aerodynamic designs of trains, ships, and planes. Both styles emerged during the same era of modernity but while Art Deco style uses bold colors, symmetry, geometric shapes, & more ornate, Streamline Moderne is sleeker & more curvilinear… all about the “future” & moving forward. Fun little history fact!! But, no matter it’s “labeled style” … it bears an awesome presence and is going to be a phenomenal addition to almost ANY room in your home! You know you should have it… so do it… make it YOURS!!!
