Description
This chair must be almost the, if not THE, most comfortable sink into relaxing chair of the mid-20th century! Fall into it. Curl up in it. Put your feet up. Relax. And did I say it swivels! Made by The Selig Manufacturing Company circa 1970s. It is comprised of a large overstuffed egg-shaped boat of a chair on a gorgeous round wood swivel base with a matching ottoman. The original wide wale corduroy fabric looks natural and comfy on this piece but, unfortunately, it seems to have a little sun rot going on. If you like the two-toned look you may be able to salvage the fabric on the bodies and just reupholster the cushions. I can imagine this being quite cool. It has been priced accordingly. This chair’s designer and country of origin is unknown as Selig did some manufacturing in the USA and imported designs from both Denmark and Italy. I see bits of each country in this fabulous piece. You need to make it yours.
