Faarup Mobelfabrik

Information about Faarup Mobelfabrik is little and far between but we have discerned it was founded in its namesake Danish town by the Hallas family sometime prior to WWII. According the founder’s, Sigurd Halla, sons, Johannes and Einar August, Faarup Mobelfabrik was one of Denmark’s largest producers of fine wood case goods. In addition to their success in Denmark they were exported to the US, UK, Australia, and New Zealand. Like most Scandinavian Modern design their pieces were sought after for their high quality, beautiful materials, and classic lines. These classic and beautifully designed pieces came from collaborations with many renowned designers including Ib Kofod-Larsen, Svend Age Larsen, Jorgen Linde, and Kurt Lovig. In 1989 they merged with the Danish Tvilum-Scanbirk Group which has since been acquired by American Masco Corporation.
