Stately and wonderful curule or Savonarola chair comprised of wrought iron and cast brass with red velvet. This chair frame is in perfect and beautiful condition and the velvet fabric is in good vintage condition and could be used; but, the foam in the back sling and the seat cushion is hard and crispy and will need replaced. Circa 1950s-1970s.

This is a fantastic 20^th century example of the Savonarola chair, also called Curule chair, X-frame chair, Dante chair, Dantesca chair, or scissors chair…….. but I think you should just call it your chair!
