The form follows function design edict is certainly in play with this iconic Scandinavian mid-century modern chair designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1958 for the lobby and lounge areas at the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. Called the Swan chair it has been produced by Fritz Hansen since and has become one of the most sought-after chairs of the mid-century. This chair’s tag dates it to a manufacture date of August of 1969. It retains its original cognac colored vinyl upholstery, original feet, and original finish on its aluminum swivel base. There are some imperfections to the vinyl but only what you would expect from age. This is your chance to own an icon of the mid century Scandinavian modern era. Make it yours.

Iconic mid-century modern Swan chair by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen in cognac colored Naugahyde vinyl upholstery. It is in wonderful vintage condition with normal wear and tear for age and use. There are a few nicks to the vinyl that have been touched up and the aluminum swivel base has its original and aged finish which has not been polished only cleaned. Please see photos. Circa 1969.
