ABOUT

This delicate looking but very sturdy antique side chair is a real puzzle to me.  It is somewhat Victorian, but not really.  It could look a little Sheraton Revival, but not really.  It has some qualities of a Windsor chair, but not really. I can’t quite pinpoint what style it is or what age it is. Let’s just decide it is handsome, beautifully made and the wood is stunning and leave it at that. It is full of unusual details from the turned back stiles, front legs, and cross stretcher to the carved top rail and the wonderful interlaced and twisted back spindles. The cane seat is in flawless condition as is the whole chair. This delicate antique side chair is a work of art!
