Description

Pure glamour!! This is a set of 6 Gold Fleck luncheon cocktail  plates by Dorothy C. Thorpe circa 1950’s. Definitely right off the set of Mad Men! Ms. Thorpe, like her contemporaries George Briard and Fred Press, designed but did not manufacture her stunning creations. Her wonderful designs were created using sandblasting, silver overlay and paint speckel on simple blank glassware from U.S. and European manufacturers. These plates are part of a much larger set of barware / cocktailware we will be listing. The plates themselves are not marked; however, all other pieces of this set have the dTc sandblasted signature. This set of 6 plates are in wonderful vintage condition, no chips, cracks or chiggers. There are some very minor scratches as you would expect for their age. Also, two of the plates are ever so slightly larger than the other four. Please see our other listings the rest of this wonderful set of mid-century Dorothy C. Thorpe Gold Fleck  Cocktailware.
