Chinoiserie Chair… EXTRORDINAIRE!!!!! This is a magnificent vintage Chinoiserie style chair made in China. The frame is comprised of a sultry black lacquer finished hardwood embellished with intricately hand painted Asian designs, figures, flowers, trees, and scenes trimmed with gold lines. The detail and colors in the paintings are phenomenal!!! And the design on the back of the splat is carved from hard stone! It has an incredible horseshoe yoke back, and a unique feature having spindles with wonderful gold painted details on both sides of the center back splat and sides curved up under the arms. It has fabulous, curved Ming style legs and the seat cushion is covered in a stunning Damask fabric with a champaign base color and beautiful golden cherry blossom floral details. It will look exquisite as a side or accent chair in a Chinoiserie, Oriental, Asian, Hollywood Regency, or Mid-Century Modern setting but it’s attractive enough to stand on its own in any room. It would be awesome in your bedroom, dressing area, or in the sitting room next to a side table. This chair is sure to make an elegant statement whatever location you choose. Stunning vintage Chinoiserie style horseshoe Yoke back black chair with Ming style legs and champaign colored Damask fabric with floral pattern on the seat cushion. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, there is a ring-shaped stain in the seat fabric even after shampooing but we’ve found no outstanding flaws in the frame.
