What a MARVELOUS MONUMENTAL MODERATOR of meals!!!!! There are many dining tables in the furniture world BUT how often do you come across one as spectacular and sizeable as this one?? This is a STUNNING Chinoiserie Regency style Union National Inc dining table with a freshly painted patinated black top with intricately painted & gilt details on the table edge which is signed by J. Sheldon, skirted apron, a 3 leaf option, and a double pillar tripod base on casters. It has a lovely carved pineapple detail with gilded leaves above the tri-leg base. And it doesn’t HAVE to be massive to be just as marvelous!! It’s VERY versatile!! The wonderful, skirted apron on the leaves make it easy if you decide you want to remove one, two, or all three leaves. The table has a complete appearance with or without them. And the casters create a convenience and ease if you need to move the table from one room to another. Plus, we have enhanced this piece a gorgeous purposeful patina!! It is a statement piece for sure and will look amazing surrounded with dining chairs of your choice. We have several listed here for sale that would be a sensational fit (along with the matching set of six if they are still available) … check them out!!!
The Union National Furniture Co. of Jamestown, NY., was formed in 1939 from the National Furniture Co., which had been in business since the early 1890’s. Both companies were owned and operated by the Nord family. The Nords made quality high-end furniture. Union National catered to many famous people including William Holden, Jerry Lewis, Lucile Ball, Wayne Newton, and others. The furniture was expensive and brings top dollar to current day. All furniture by Union National was made of quality hardwoods and painted pieces were done by highly skilled artists, such as C. Gaeto. Union National Furniture closed their doors in 1994.
