Alessandro Pianon was born in Venice in 1931. After his studies at The Architecural School in Venice he was hired by Vetreria Vistosi in 1956 where he designed many bottles, lamps, vases and a magnificent popular series of birds in vibrant colors and textured surfaces he called “Pucini in 1962 using Murano glass. That same year he opened his own studio and continued to create for Vistosi but was also able to collaborate with other lighting and décor makers including Lumenform. Alessandro Pianon passed away in 1984.
Vistosi was established in 1945 named after its founder Gulielmo Vistosi, whose family had a long history of glass making dating back to the XVI century. It has passed through generations developing its position and establishing their own brand in the universe of artistic Venetian and Murano glass. The brand has remained a family operation with a cutting-edge approach to growth and development while remaining loyal to maintaining high quality craftsmanship and upholding the tradition of mouth-blown glass lighting. Vistosi employs master glassblowers ready to create new and innovative designs that collaborate with the brand. Vistosi has won many awards and patents including one for the Giogali Collection by Angelo Mangiarotti in 1967. Vistosi remains in business today creating timeless, original, leading-edge products.
