Modern Black & White Cube Club Lounge Chair Metropolitan Furniture Co. San Francisco

This outstanding black and white club chair by Metropolitan Furniture Company of San Francisco and made exclusively for Marshall Fields is nothing short of fantastic!! Unfortunately, we had a little transport accident and the small paper tag that purported its exclusivity to Marshall Fields was lost. Fortunately, we had photographed the tag prior to transporting it. You can see it in the photos. We know that during the timeframe for creation of this chair two significant designers, Jules Heumann and Brian Kane, were designing for Metro Furniture, but we have not been successful in determining if one of them created this magnificent example of California Modern design. But no matter who designed it….they did a marvelous job! Comprised of a blackened oak bulky cube shaped frame and comfy cushy seat, back and arms that are covered in an oatmeal colored, what we believe is wool, heavy weave fabric that is scattered throughout with specs of black “tweeding”. We adore this chair and know you will too. Make it yours!!!
