Teak Scandinavian Modern Cal King Storage Platform Bed & Swing-Arm Nightstands by Dyrlund

This is an amazingly beautiful king size bed! California king to be exact. It even comes with its own attached swing-arm nightstands! Its style is mid-century Scandinavian Modern or Danish Modern and it was created by Dyrlund of Denmark circa 1960s-1980s. Dyrlund was founded in 1960 and continues today producing fine quality furniture for high end homes and executive offices. This bed is comprised of teak with a platform style frame which is supported by the storage headboard and two large square recessed legs that allow the bed to look as if it is floating in midair cantilevered off the headboard. The headboard itself is 11.75 inches in depth with slanted drop-front doors allowing for bedding or pillow storage within. The top of the headboard is mantle-like and extends like wings out beyond the frame width making it float above the swing-arm nightstands which are mounted to the siderails. All these details making this a very handy and gorgeous bed indeed. As you can see from the photos the back is finished and almost as beautiful as its front. So, floating this bed in the room is possible which will seriously give the illusion of sleeping on air! Useful…beautiful…sophisticated…and very well made.
