Oh my!! These are some of the greatest chairs we have come across. I must admit we have had these quite some time and they have been in our private stash. We originally obtained these from our local police department auditorium or meeting room. We cannot find a maker’s mark on any of the 25 chairs, but I have seen similar ones listed that are marked Heywood Wakefield, and this does make sense to us. So, we are calling them attributed to. They are each comprised of a folding chrome and steel frame. The seat and arms fold up and the back legs fold inward. The backs are made of two pieces of molded birch plywood sandwiched together; with the front piece upholstered in their original brown frieze fabric, and the back stained with a walnut finish. The spring seats wear their original brown vinyl on the seat top and front apron with frieze on the sides. Even though the upholstery is original and most in good condition, I can imagine these reupholstered in a gorgeous new fabric or leather. To that we have priced them accordingly. If you have a theatre room…these chairs are perfect! But, a pair, or four, would be incredible in your living room or bedroom or den. And they will go well with many design styles too. If you have an industrial loft…perfect. A mid-mod house…perfect. A log cabin…perfect. A lakeside cottage…perfect. A country home…perfect. Just make them yours!
Vintage Art Deco Streamline Bauhaus Chrome Frieze Vinyl Folding Auditorium Chairs
$695
Twenty-nine handsome folding auditorium chairs or theatre seats. They are in an Art Deco, Streamline Modern, Art Moderne, Machine Age, or Bauhaus style in chrome, frieze fabric, vinyl (faux leather), and wood. Although these are not marked, we have seen similar chairs marked as Heywood Wakefield. They are all in great overall vintage condition.
