Oh “dear,” what have we here???? We have a GORGEOUS vintage caramel colored ceramic “deer” to offer to you!! This wonderful ceramic piece was made by Jaru California Pottery in 1975. It is mid-century modern to modern in style with a bit of Art Deco Revival thrown in, but it will blend beautifully with almost ANY décor. It would be a lovely centerpiece on a dining table or surrounded by plants and foliage on a table in a sunroom. She has a peaceful aura as she lays calmly in her restful position awaiting her chance to be placed on the perfect shelf, tabletop, or display cabinet in your home.
Jaru Art Products started in 1948 after founders Jack and Ruth Hirsch met, began a relationship, and eventually married. Their business, Jaru Art Products, was formed from the combination of the first two letters of their names, Jack, and Ruth. Later on, Jaru began to sell some of the works they created themselves, together with the help they got from other recruited artists. Their business became successful in the early 50’s and has been passed on several times across generations. Today, pottery pieces bearing the Jaru signature are considered of high value and sought after by collectors.
This wonderful piece of Jaru pottery has become very “deer/dear to our hearts,” If you love it half as much as we do, you should definitely make it yours!!
