There are sofas… and then, few and far between, you find a sofa as SPECTACULAR as this one!! It’s Mediterranean or Spanish Revival in style and it’s made and tagged by American of Martinsville! It wears its ORIGINAL oyster white with blue & green brocade fabric and has loose back and seat cushions. The frame has a beautiful pecan finish, and the arms are comprised of painted plastic figure eight scroll designs and burled panels below them. Marvelous Mediterranean and Spanish Revival style!! The whole sofa stands on six gorgeous, grooved round tapered feet… it’s absolutely AWESOME!! This is certainly one of the most beautiful and unusual sofas we’ve seen in a long time, and we can just picture it in your living room or flanking your fireplace! It’s high style and distinct lines are just what today’s decors are all about.
American of Martinsville was established in 1906 in Martinsville, Virginia by tobacco manufacturers, Ancil Witten and Charles Keesee. Early on they produced only bedroom furniture. In the 1920s they expanded their production to include dining room furniture and by the end of the 1950s were vast in their offerings in purpose and style. With the expansion of travel and roadside motels, they began offering a mass-produced line for the many motels popping up across the country and continued this through the end of the 20th century. In 2000 they were acquired by La-Z-Boy Incorporated and today specialize in furniture for the hotel and healthcare industries.
Don’t let this magnificent Mediterranean or Spanish Revival style sofa slip away!! Make it yours!!!
