Vintage Modern Rosewood Dresser Credenza or Buffet by Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin

Gorgeous vintage modern rosewood pair of cube shaped nightstands by Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin. Comprised of gorgeous rosewood veneer, brass plated steel bands, and a single ebonized drawer in each nightstand. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. There are a few chips, nicks, or dings in the wood veneer and some rust spots on the brass plated steel bands. The smaller veneer flaws were filled while larger pieces were replaced for restoration, and it looks beautiful. The bands have been professionally cleaned and we left them with their small scratches, rust spots, and age marks as we did not want to change the authenticity of the piece and honestly, we love the look of a little age patina. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, 1970’s.

NOTE: We have the complete matching bedroom set including a queen headboard, a dresser or credenza, large mirror, these nightstands, and a wardrobe, plus a pair of lamps. We are selling these pieces as a set or individually. You can find them all for sale here if they are still available. If one item sells separately, we will pull the listing for the full set; however, we would entertain combining pieces if you are interested.

This is an absolutely GORGEOUS dresser, or is it a credenza, or wait… it’s a buffet?? You know what’s really awesome? It could be ALL of those!! And…did we mention that it is designed and created by the ICONIC duo Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin?? WHAT!! Let’s start by talking about the incredible, almost breathtaking grain in the rosewood veneer, both inside the cabinet AND outside!! The veneer on the face pieces is so beautifully matched, it just draws you in…it’s stunning to say the least!! Two beautiful brass plated steel bands divide three large center drawers and two side doors, and another along the base of the cabinet. It’s a marvelous detail!! The center drawers and side doors open using a finger groove and there are three ebonized pull-out shelves behind the side doors. So much storage!! This beauty would be wonderful in your dining room as a buffet, in your living room as a credenza or media cabinet, or in your bedroom as a dresser. When eclectic partnerships such as Milo Baughman and Thayer Coggin come together and create, it results in furniture with style and presence that is simply unmatchable and highly sought after. Versatility, exemplary presence, and magnificent mid-century modern style…how can you go wrong?

One of the most remarkable partnerships in the mid-century modern to modern design world was the phenomenal furniture making duo of Milo Baughman and Thayer Coggin. Milo Baughman, a 20th Century genius of design, was born in Western Kansas in 1923 but was moved a year later by his family to Long Beach, California. He created Milo Baughman Design Inc. in 1947 and began designing interiors and furniture. Thayer Coggin was born in 1922 in Denton, North Carolina. Twelve years later his family moved 25 miles north to High Point where he grew up surrounded by furniture manufacturing. Thayer’s first love was furniture and Milo’s was design. So, together in 1953, after the two met, history was made in American furniture making by one of the greatest collaborations in the industry. During his career and before his death in 2003, Milo did design for several other companies as well as his own, but it is his collaboration with Thayer Coggin that is most impressive and sought-after today. Thayer Coggin, Inc. is still in business today even after its namesake’s death and is still offering classic selections from the late Baughman’s designs.

Call it a dresser, call it a credenza, call it a buffet… but whatever you choose to call this phenomenal dresser by Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin…choose to call it yours!
