Dapper. Dashing. Delightful. And vintage Union National! WOW! This is a gorgeous chow leg Ming style dresser featuring a gorgeous chinoiserie floral & butterflies design across the front and sides of the dresser and it has an all-over intentional fabulous, distressed patina finish. It is comprised of four single drawers across the top of the dresser and four larger drawers below, all with brass pulls and the front of the dresser is framed with a gold painted trim. The dresser is raised upon chow Ming style legs… and it is stunning! It came with a magnificent bedroom set, (which we are also selling here if the pieces are all still available,) Technically, this is an awesome dresser BUT… if you love it and don’t really need a dresser right now, it would be a wonderful buffet in your dining room, credenza or media cabinet in your living room, or a fabulous dry bar!! Versatility, exemplary presence, and unmatchable chinoiserie and Hollywood Regency style…this piece has it ALL!!
The Union National Furniture Co. of Jamestown, NY., was formed in 1939 from the National Furniture Co., which had been in business since the early 1890’s. Both companies were owned and operated by the Nord family. The Nords made quality high-end furniture. Union National catered to many famous people including William Holden, Jerry Lewis, Lucile Ball, Wayne Newton, and others. The furniture was expensive and brings top dollar to current day. All furniture by Union National was made of quality hardwoods and painted pieces were done by highly skilled artists, such as C. Gaeto. Union National Furniture closed their doors in 1994.
Call it a dresser, call it a credenza, buffet, or dry bar… But whatever you choose to call it. you simply MUST call it yours!!
