This is a fabulous unique item from our private collection that we have decided someone else needs to enjoy. We have used this Chinoiserie piece as an accent side table-trash bin. Through research it appears this lovely piece was originally an Asian ice chest of some sort and this one is circa 1960s. Comprised of a Chinese red lacquered hooved Asian style square base with a removable trapezoid shaped box adorned with bands of brass faux bamboo and incredible brass Asian styled handles to lift it from the base. The chest or box has a removable galvanized insert and is topped by a pair of removable hinge-less doors with an open carved circular Oriental style design in the center, half on each door, which acts as handles. Its beautiful; unusual; versatile in style and use; and sure to be a source of visual joy! You just need to make it your own.
