Twice the Style, Twice the barrel, Twice the Swivel, that’s right… this pair of barrel shaped swivel chairs is TWICE as NICE!!! This is a wonderful pair of vintage 1968 overscale swivel barrel, tub, or bucket chairs in the style of Milo Baughman. They are wearing their original oatmeal/beige nubby tweed hopsacking fabric but let’s just say, it’s seen better days. Given the fact that it’s been around since 1968 just taking rear after rear & tush after tush sitting, shifting, and swiveling on its space… it’s understandable!! Besides, we always look at reupholstering as a POSITIVE!! Think of all the incredible fabrics you can choose from and customize them to fit your space EXACTLY the way you want!! Endless possibilities! Another cool aspect is the inconspicuous X base on the bottom of the chair… (someone is showing their age!!) LOL… just a reiteration of authentication to their vintage year. They are composed of overscale frames holding loose zippered foam/poly seat and back cushions… their much wider than your typical barrel chair from this circa, also making them extra comfortable, plus… they SWIVEL!!! And a little fun fact… they are labeled and stamped on the base & were sold at Karlan Furniture which was a furniture store located in Topeka, Kansas. AND it just so happens that my incredible mother’s incredible mother Lila was a designer for them in the 1960’s, small world, huh!! They closed in 1989, but they were quite the staple in the city (with quite the impressive design staff, I might add!!) They are SCREAMING with mid-century modern MAGNIFICENCE and will be AWESOME in your living or family room, in the sitting room with an accent table between, in your bedroom, or facing the fireplace in the den. They are comfortable, fashionable, they swivel, AND they’re ready for new upholstery of YOUR choice!!! You simply can’t go wrong! What are you waiting for? Make them YOURS!!!
