Description
This beautiful pair of stylized birds in flight by Curtis Jere which are mounted on a piece of natural quartz rock need to be yours! They will make a stunning addition to your home no matter where you place them be it a mantle, table, or pedestal. Comprised of a metal sculpture of two flying birds which is mounted to the side of a beautiful piece of stone they are in excellent condition. These sculptures were made and marketed by Artisan House and we now know that Curtis Jere was not a single artist but was a compound nom-de-plume of artists including Curtis Freiler and Jerry Fels. Before founding Artisan House these two had built a costume jewelry business which sold under the names of Renoir and Matisse, two well-known names of mid-20th century costume jewelry makers. Artisan House was sold and resold and remains in business today. The C. Jere sculptures and metal work were distributed by Raymor, a well-known name in Mid Century collectibles, and sold at Gump’s in San Francisco and other upscale retail establishments. Jerry Fels died 11/5/07 and Curtis Freiler, his brother-in-law passed 7/22/13 at ripe old age of 103; but, their legacy lives on in these fabulous sculptures. This one should grace your home. Make it yours.
