Description
Georges Briard and Culver. Two top names in mid-century cocktail ware and so Mad-Men Style! We have paired them for this set just because they look so darn good together. The ice bucket exterior is covered in a brown rather mottled vinyl that looks like shiny patent leather and the handle and ball knob on the lid are gold-toned brass plating. It blends beautifully with the 22-karat gold design on the Culver Pisa glasses. The Pisa design consists of crackled gold with three rows of oval cut-outs. The set together is simply stunning! Culver Glass Company created lavish and opulent cocktail ware from 1939 when founded by Irving Rothenberg through 1996 when they were sold to Moderne Glass Company, Inc; but it is their designs from the 1950s through the 1960s that have become highly collectable and for which they have become most renowned. Georges Briard which is a nom de plume for Jascha Brojdo was a Polish born American award-winning designer from the 1950s-1970s. Even being awarded the Frank S. Child Lifetime Achievement Award by The Society of Glass and Ceramic Decorators in 2004. His signature collections were stocked at noted department stores, such as Neiman Marcus and Bonwit Teller. Two great designers together to serve you. Just make this delightful set yours!!
