You can’t go wrong with steel, glass, and vintage SASS!!! This is a FABULOUS dining or dinette set by Shaver Howard including a wonderful table composed of a stunning slatted steel tulip style pedestal base with a clearcoat and it’s topped with a marvelous 48” round 3/8” thick glass top. It also includes four incredible clear coated steel framed dining chairs with straight front and splayed back legs which also create the outer edge of the slatted backs, and they are wearing a greige (beige/gray) textured tweed fabric that will eventually need reupholstered. We never think of that as a negative aspect because we LOVE new fabrics… and think of the ENDLESS and incredible possibilities! Upon our extensive research we were able to confirm that this set was created prior to 1980 when Shaver Howard became Johnston Casuals. So, sometime in the “Groovy 70’s!” Ahhhhh, the “Decade of Disco!” No wonder this set is so FAB! Obviously, it will be awesome in your dining area, but it could be a wonderful addition to a game room for the perfect spot to sit and play a game of cards or assemble a fun jigsaw puzzle. Maybe in a sunroom as your new vintage breakfast nook or in a kitchen corner to gather for a cozy lunch or coffee with a friend. This set has clean, simple lines, versatility, and it is oh-so-full of Modern style that will blend with your Bauhaus, Art Deco Revival, or MCM home, loft, or apartment too!!

During much of the 60’s they produced mid-century modern furnishings, many pieces by famed designer Arthur Umanoff. In 1980, Shaver Howard Furniture Co. was purchased and renamed Johnston Casuals.
