Talk about Eye Candy!!! Just hanging around and looking FABULOUS!!!! WOW!!! This is the iconic Parker Pendant Light by Jonathan Adler for Robert Abbey Lighting Inc. comprised of a gorgeous, frosted milk glass cylindrical globe encased by a fantastic laser cut metal shade with a lovely, polished nickel finish featuring Jonathan Adlers famous “Nixon Pattern” reminiscent of architectural screen block cement walls that were so popularly used throughout the country in the 1950-1960’s era. It hangs from a wonderful white cord suspended from a handsome polished nickel canopy. Lovely incandescent light illuminates behind the beautiful frosted globe creating a shadow with an alluring ambiance only a duo as innovative as Robert Abbey & Jonathan Adler could create. We have 5 of these pendant lights available and 4 of them have their original box, instructions, and paperwork. The fifth light was hanging among other fabulous lights displayed here in our showroom for years so it doesn’t have its original but we will send a copy of the original paperwork and it will be boxed beautifully before it leaves our shop. The design borders with a Contemporary and Transitional style but it also has a retro flair and would go with Mid-Century Modern as well. A single light would be stunning in an entryway, stairwell, or hallway or a sequence of three or four in your dining room above your large dining table. They would also be beautiful in a bedroom, in your study, or in the living room. Endless incredible possibilities.
Jonathan Adler is an American potter, author, interior decorator, designer, and business owner. He was born in 1966 in Bridgeton, New Jersey and at 12 years old, he discovered a love for pottery while at summer camp. He would go on to attend Brown University where he studied semiotics and art history while also spending time at nearby Rhode Island School of Design creating pots, urns, and teapots. He was discouraged by his professor telling him that he had “no talent” and that he should give up this dream and become a lawyer. After he graduated he spent 3 years in the entertainment industry but found it unsatisfying & returned to his dream of pottery. He started teaching classes in New York in 1990 in exchange for free studio space. During that time, with those very pots his professor discouraged him for, he decided to call the buyers from “Barneys New York.” He received an order and became a full time production potter. In 1993 he founded Jonathan Adler Enterprises, Inc. He once said in an interview that “every creative person and craftsperson should have a nay-sayer to rebel against.” Today his designs are sold in over 30 stores and with more than 1,000 retailers. He has been an interior designer for many famous people and establishments over the years as well as appearing as a guest on Good Morning America, The Oprah Winfrey Show, and several other national programs. In January 2025 it was announced that the Jonathan Adler Brand had been acquired by Consortium Brand Partners, a private equity firm. He now has 9 stores, runs an eponymous home interior business, and lives with his partner Simon Doonan in Greenwich Village, New York.
