Handsome vintage Chinoiserie Hollywood Regency king sized headboard with black painted hardwood & Greek Key Meander fretwork detail. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Sometimes the best thing to do first thing in the morning is go right back to bed! And honestly, with a bed this beautiful, you may never want to get up!!! This is a fabulous king-sized headboard featuring a fascinating carved meander or Greek key fretwork design wearing a lovely ebony black painted finish. Meander is simply the Asian version of Greek Key so… you choose your term!! Either way, you’re right!! Did you know… for ancient people, meander patterns had a deep meaning and symbolized the flow of human life: the meander pattern symbolized eternity achieved through reproduction, i.e., the disappearance of something old and the birth of something new. How beautiful!! It is going to be fabulous in your bedroom or as a guest bed! All you need is a king-sized mattress and a Hollywood frame OR if you don’t mind the opinion of my mom, who is a FABULOUS retired interior designer… She would have a hanging mechanism or wall cleat made so that you can attach it to the wall and lift it a little higher, use a platform rather than a Hollywood frame, and toss out the box springs as mattresses today are much taller than they used to be. Annnnnd, Voila! Maximum exposure of the headboard! If that sounds like something you would be interested in, we would be happy to provide a wall cleat upon purchase of the headboard. OR… use a twin-sized mattress and turn it sideways and use it as an incredible daybed!!
