Description
I have never seen a set like this! And it is fabulous. So space-age Jetson’s. We just recently acquired this from a residence that was designed and furnished in 1966. And we have many of the original invoices and designer’s list of items being purchased. This set is simply amazing. It is comprised of the most interestingly shaped Burke Tulip table I’ve ever seen. The top is the shape of a four-point star, or a better description might be…a round top with four concave arcs out of four sides of the circle. The chairs fit exactly into that arc. This top is on Burke’s pedestal base in the style of Saarinen’s Tulip table. The chairs are a set of four of Burke’s fiberglass arm shell chairs on Burke’s version of Eames La Fonda pedestal base. There is a narrow strip of real wood veneer between each leg on the pedestal. And each seat has a near perfect olive-green vinyl chair pad. This set is just simply spectacular. You need to make it yours.
