Handsome mid-century modern walnut credenza unmarked but done in the style of John Stuart Widdicomb. It is in fabulous vintage condition. The top finish has been restored to remove some fading that had occurred. The rest of the piece retains its original finish which is wonderful. Please see photos. Circa mid-20th century.

Description

Oh, my goodness this is a striking cabinet and we quickly acquired it so we could offer it to you. It is unmarked; however, the design and high-quality construction reminds us of the fabulous pieces by John Stuart Inc. and John Stuart Widdicomb Company. It is comprised of three section of double doors that appear to be individual cabinets setting on a Parsons style bench base but in fact are all one piece. Each section is fitted on the interior with a single shallow drawer and one shelf. The double doors are a joy to behold with a modified latticework that is reminiscent of the Broyhill Brasilia design but much smaller in scale. The walnut carved latticework is applied to the walnut veneered doors and each has an intriguing drop pull in antique brass. It is simply magnificent and sure to be a showstopper and conversation starter wherever it is used. You need to make it yours!
