Modern and rocker are not usually two words you think of together but just look at this beauty. It is done in the Scandinavian Modern style, but we do not know if it is Danish. It has lines reminiscent of several Scandinavian Modern rocking chairs, but it also reminds us of the Conant Ball rocker. So, it could be American. You could call it a modern Windsor rocker since it has a crest rail, which is a curved elliptical shape, and eight tapered spindles creating the back support which attach into the seat frame like a dowel. The seat has a cane insert and the arm rail has a small concave curve at the front. Its four tapered legs and four tapered stretchers set atop two interestingly shaped rockers. The black paint finish on the chair has a lovely natural age patina that blends beautifully with the natural colored cane seat. The whole is a stunning mid-century modern rocking chair!
