This is an incredible vintage mid-century modern game table and chairs set! Designed by Jack Van der Molen for Jamestown Lounge Company’s Americana Casual line of furniture circa 1950 and in wonderful condition. Jack Van der Molen designed furniture for 61 years for top manufacturers throughout the United States. During the 1950’s he designed the very popular Americana Casual line for Jamestown Lounge Co. and in 1959 won the House Beautiful Magazine “Best Chair of the Year” award. I have not been able to determine if this is the chair but………this one sure deserves it. It has wonderful lines, is very comfortable and made of beautiful oak, which was a mainstay for Jamestown, and stained dark walnut. The chair seat is constructed of contoured fiberglass and the chair seats and backs are covered in black vinyl which is in extremely good condition. The table top is constructed of the same oak but there is an inlay of grasscloth textured vinyl in the middle. Unfortunately, there is one very small, most likely cigarette burn, blemish in the vinyl top but, is hardly noticeable – just want to keep you informed. The legs of the table and chairs are adorned with little brass cone-shaped feet. I can see a lot of fun being had around this great Mid Century Modern gem!
