Description
This is a fabulous set of Georgian Revival Chippendale style dining chairs consisting of two-armed host and hostess chairs and eight armless side chairs. The beautiful mahogany has a few nicks, dings and scratches as you would expect from these circa 1930’s set of chairs, I call that patina; however, the structure is solid. The footless Marlborough style front legs are adorned with fabulous egg and dart style carving as is the swooped arms of the host chairs. The lower cross stretcher is arched and carved for a beautiful detail. They were reupholstered sometime in the 1970’s with a fun flame-stitch fabric which has come and gone and come again. It is in great condition if you would like to use them as is; but, although the flame-stitch is fun, these would be spectacular done in silk, velvet, a beautiful leather, or even hair-on cowhide! Make these yours and let the fun begin.
