Description

Ist diese Keramik nicht fabelhaft?? That’s German for “Isn’t this pottery FABULOUS?” Well, we certainly think so!! We have a lovely pair of useable pottery pieces to offer to you. First, we have a vintage bold red bulbus shaped “Solid Colours” pitcher by Waechtersbach, crafted in Germany and a beautiful vintage “Sundial” blue covered casserole dish by Hall Ceramics. They are gorgeous!! Both are oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe if you intend to use them however, we think they also look phenomenal as décor. They are mid-century modern with an Art Deco flair and will be a wonderful addition to your kitchen whether on display in a China hutch, on top of a buffet, or simply sitting out on your kitchen counter or island. They are sure to grab the attention of your guests if simply used as a centerpiece on your dining table or as you serve your grandma’s recipe casserole from the dish and pour your fresh squeezed lemonade from the pitcher.

Waechtersbach Ceramics is a German manufacturer located in Brachttal near Wachtersbach Germany which was founded in 1832 by the Prince of Ysenburg & Budingen. In the early 20th century, they introduced Art Nouveau style ceramics with works designed by Joseph Maria Olbrich, Peter Behrens, and Hans Christiansen. Waechtersbach was a registered company in 2003, became part of the Konitz Porzellan company in 2006, and closed in 2011.

The Hall China Company was an American ceramics manufacturer founded in 1903 by Robert Hall and located in East Liverpool, Ohio. They were known for pioneering the single-fire glazing process. At the time of its closure, Hall China was one of two potteries under the HLC Inc. brand, the other being Homer Laughlin China. In 2020, it was announced that the Hall China facility would be shuttered by February 2021 to reduce overhead in the now Fiesta Tableware Company, as the Hall China brand itself had been sold to Steelite International earlier in that year. Hall China is still produced as a food service brand by Steelite, but no longer operates as an independent brand in retail.

A gorgeous red German pitcher and a fabulous blue casserole dish with a sundial lid… both vintage pottery, both stunning, and both ready to use and grace your kitchen with Art Deco magnificence… what are you waiting for? Make them yours!!
