Vintage A. Brandt Ranch Oak Sideboard China Hutch Cabinet Western Rustic

Just look at this fabulous Ranch Oak china hutch cabinet by A. Brandt Company! It will be the perfect piece in your dining room, kitchen, study, or maybe the family room of your western ranch home or rustic mountain abode. It is comprised of rustic solid ranch oak that is signature to A. Brandt Company furniture. The base of the cabinet, or the buffet part, has four drawers in its center with a door and drawer above that on each side. The hutch top has two double opening doors with glass inserts perfect for display. The cabinet’s details show the high quality of this solid wood piece. Each door and drawer on the buffet have a ranch oak carved handle and the hammered hinges are a nice detail as well. The knobs on the upper are hammered to match the hinges. A Brandt Company was established in 1900 by German immigrant August Brandt. But it was Paul Brandt, August’s son, who engineered and debuted the Ranch Oak furniture in Fort Worth, Texas in 1938. Paul served as company president for approximately 50 years. The production of the Ranch Oak line continued until the mid-1980s. It was used in ranch homes, mountain homes, dude ranches, and basement rec rooms across the nation. The US government contracted Ranch Oak furnishings for many of their military bases. And it was used by National Park lodges plus roadside motels for its attractive, durable, rustic type of décor.

We love this piece and know you will too. Make it yours!!

Vintage Fork and Spoon Neon Sign Wall Hanging Sculptures in Red and Green

Vintage Fork and Spoon Neon Sign Wall Hanging Sculptures in Red and Green

Wow! What a great and unusual Pop Art pair for your kitchen, dining room, or bar area. They are comprised of a metal box, one in the shape of a spoon and one in the shape of a fork. Inside the box is neon tube and a ballast. The face of the fork is green plexiglass and the spoon is red. They plug into a regular 110 outlet and hang on the wall by a hole in the back of the box. Or if you don’t want to hang them, they could be placed on a shelf. The ballasts will mount remote or separate from the fork and spoon. Vintage Aluminum Troughs Planters Sinks Containers Vessels 10 Sold Separately

Vintage Aluminum Troughs Planters Sinks Containers Vessels 8 Sold Separately

These are so dang cool and unusual!!!! What they were originally we believe were food troughs at the USVA hospitals. Or possibly…garbage troughs?? Rectangular and made of aluminum with tapered sides and flat bottoms plus very handy bail handles on either end. They are so very versatile, and their uses are nearly endless. Some of the things we have used them for over the years (in our design projects while we were interior designers before we retired to sell our wares) are many. We used them as planters and window boxes; containers for food and dry goods on a lower shelf in a huge kitchen island; as a centerpiece on a long gorgeous farmhouse table; as a vessel bar sink, a laundry room sink, and a potting shed sink; as magazine and book holders; as toy containers for a child’s bedroom; and we have even iced down a few beers. They are priced individually, so you pick how many you need to do what you want to do. There are currently 8. Make a few yours!

Antique Rustic Primitive Pine Factory Cabinet or Work Bench with Age Patina

Antique Rustic Primitive Pine Factory Cabinet or Work Bench with Age Patina

This is one of those pieces you just ooh and ahh over because of its incredibly beautiful patina it has achieved over its years of use. We are not sure if it was a work bench or a factory cabinet, but we do know its fabulous. It is comprised of pine that has a natural age patina and a full height door on one end and four drawers on the other. There are two side-by-side shallow top drawers with two longer drawers below. Even the miss-matched cast iron cup pulls, and homemade wood twist latch are charming. The back is solid wood planks so it can float in a room. One end of the top is flush and the other overhangs so at some point in its life it must have been up against the wall or another cabinet…and this is even charming!! I see this being an incredible kitchen island. But it would also make a unique and useful credenza. Put it in an entry or dining room, or for your TV in a family room or bedroom. Use it in your industrial loft or modern rustic country or mountain home. It will be spectacular. Just make it yours!!

Vintage Largescale Model Covered Wagon or Prairie Schooner Pony or Goat Cart

Vintage Largescale Model Covered Wagon or Prairie Schooner Pony or Goat Cart

How cool is this!!?? Everyone needs it in their life….a scale model covered wagon. Or, as they were sometimes romantically called, prairie schooner. This was due to their broad white canvas covers resemblance to the white sails of a ship crossing the sea. Can’t you just envision the long line (sometime up to 200) of these beautiful wagons travelling West though the beautiful tallgrass prairies? I learned so much researching this unique treasure. First, it is not a Conestoga wagon. They were shaped differently and much too heavy to cross the prairie. Secondly, the covered wagon is just what the name infers. They were primarily a farm wagon that was adapted and covered with a canvas roof for travelling west into new lands of opportunity. They were normally not ridden in but walked beside and they hauled supplies needed for the four to six-month excursion. Our scaled model has a full wood roof instead of arched wood supports for the canvas rather like a gypsy wagon that has been covered with the canvas. This wonderful example could be used as it was meant to be as a pony, goat, or large dog cart. But we have envisioned it as yard/garden art loaded with plants and flowers but only in a covered, protected, or enclosed area as it wouldn’t last long in direct weather. Or, as an interesting store display. It could also be converted to a fun bar! The sky’s the limit. Let your imagination soar just like our pioneer ancestors! Make this novel nod to history and icon of the American West yours!

Baker Furniture French Provincial Country Style Bachelor’s Chest of Drawers

Baker Furniture French Provincial Country Style Bachelor’s Chest of Drawers

When we find a gorgeous piece of furniture of this high quality and from a maker of such high regard, we must have it to offer to you! This Country French Provincial style bachelor chest is circa mid-late 20th century by Baker Furniture. The wood grain and color on this incredible chest is exceptional. Plus, it is comprised of a beautifully detailed case that is fitted with four drawers of equal depth. Two narrow drawers on top and two full width drawers as the bottom two. The drawers are fitted with ornate antique brass handles and key escutcheons that accent the carved drawer fronts wonderfully. The sinuous cabinet apron has a beautiful scroll and feather carved design. The front legs are grooved and flow seamlessly into the delicate curved scroll of the foot.

Baker is one of the most prestigious names in furniture! They were founded in 1890 by Siebe Baker, an immigrant from the Netherlands as an interior woodwork and door company. Three years later they made their first piece of furniture. In 1910 Siebe’s son, Hollis S. Baker, joined the company as a salesman and throughout most of Baker’s existence it was a family-controlled business, even being sold and repurchased in the 1920s-1930s. Baker is considered a design legacy and over the years they have produced furniture designed by such greats as Donald Desky and Kem Weber in the early 20th century, Finn Juhl in the mid-20th century, and John Saladino and Barbara Barry in the late 20th century. They have introduced many award-winning furniture collections including, during the 1940s and 1950s, Far East Collection, the first Asian furniture collection manufactured in the USA; and Palladian Collection an Italian neo classic design. Then, in the 1960s and 1970s the introduction of  country English and French Provincial featuring the reproduction of choice antiques from the home of the Duke and Duchess of Bedford. After decades of being in the Baker family hands, in 1969 it was sold to Magnavox then in 1986 to Kohler Co. It remains today a part of Kohler and operates out of North Carolina. Still one of the top names in furniture.

This great Baker chest will be awesome in any room of your home. Use it in an entry with mirror above and chair beside. Use it in a living room between a pair of lounge chairs. Use it in your master bedroom as a much-needed oversized nightstand. Or, use it in a guest room for just the right amount of storage. Use it anywhere! Just make it yours.

Rustic Arts and Crafts Black and White Diner Booth Banquette Table and Benches

Rustic Arts and Crafts Black and White Diner Booth Banquette Table and Benches

Have you ever wished you had one of those darling little booths from a vintage diner? Now is your chance!  Or…….maybe its from a cute little cottage breakfast nook. Hmmmmm? Whichever it is from… it will be perfect in your breakfast room, man cave, or sunroom. Comprised of an Arts and Crafts or cottage style pair of wood benches and matching table. The wood was painted white years ago and could be again. But, we rather like the rustic and distressed patina it has now. We are not sure if the top of the table is original, as it is laminate rather than wood. And it seems it would have been wood. But, we have put a new black finish on the laminate and it is fabulous. We love the black and white look of it and the history it has. Not to mention the stories it could tell! You need to make it yours.

Antique Primitive and Rustic Gravity Cream Separator Can in Green on Red Legs

This is so cool!!! It is a fabulous piece of vintage farm equipment. This awesome item was made as a gravity cream separator for a dairy farm but it’s Primitive and rustic patina make it incredible for an item of decor. It stands proudly on red-painted wood legs and is the most remarkable shade of green you have ever seen. Plus, the age patina is perfection. It is amazing what a few dings and a little rust can do. It has a lid that reminds me of the Tin Man’s hat. In fact, the whole thing rather reminds me of the Tin Man from Wizard of Oz and this piece comes from Kansas too. Use it as a piece of sculpture in your home or in your yard and it will look marvelous. But, remove the lid, hang it on the leg and fill the can with beautiful sunflowers and look at what you have!!! Spanish Colonial Revival Style Round Dining Table with Single Pedestal Three Available

Spanish Colonial Revival Style Round Dining Table with Single Pedestal Three Available

These awesome Spanish Artes de Mexico Internacionales style round dining tables are part of an amazing find on one of our treasure hunting adventures. We found a complete apartment clubhouse which was furnished in 1970 with all the original furnishings intact. They are remodeling. Silly them. And, we got it all! Please see our other listing for more amazing pieces. Each of these tables is comprised of a 1.5-inch-thick 43.5 inch diameter top with a hexagon shaped pedestal and base. There is a hand carved raised panel on each of the six sides of the pedestal. Simple and wonderful. They are perfect for your Spanish Hacienda. Or, in your Southwestern, country, or mountain home.

Although unmarked, we believe these to be by Artes de Mexico Internacionales, SA as are most of the pieces out of the aforementioned clubhouse.  Artes de Mexico Internacionales, SA imported artisan handmade piece from Mexico to the US exclusively for sale to the trade. FYI to the trade means they were sold only to architect and interior designers and not to the public. This makes their pieces more exclusive so harder to find. In addition to the tag, some of their items were signed by the artists. So, do not confuse them with Arte de Mexico which is a Los Angeles based shop selling, although beautiful pieces as well, production pieces to the public.

I can’t wait to hear how you are going to use this marvelous Spanish style table. Make one yours and let me know. Or, maybe you need both.
